Printing Notes

  1. If you need to send an office note you will need to be in the EHR side of the patient’s chart.
  2. Change the folder type to “Notes”
  3. Make sure the note is signed by the provider
    • a. If the note is not signed you need to open the note.
    • b. Click the envelope on the right side of the note
    • c. Under “contacts” select “Providers”
    • d. Change “type” on the right side of the box to “sign off”
    • e. Change “priority” on the right side of the box to “low”
    • f. Type “Please sign to send with Referral” in the Message box
    • g. Click “Send”
  4. If the note is signed click on “Word Merge”
    • a. IF this is an Annual Physical you will need to click “Visit Summary”
    • b. If this is a regular visit (Ex. Follow-up, Appointment, or Same-day Sick) you will choose “Revised Visit Summary”
    • c. If it is a Musculoskeletal visit, choose “Musculoskeletal Rev.
  5. Close the blank window that opens.
  6. Go to the Edge browser you already have open to find the “WordMerge” tab. Click “Download File” at the bottom of the address bar. Then you will select “Open File” on the box that pops up.
    • a. If this does not pull up Microsoft Word you will need to click on the tab at the bottom of the screen that says “Wordmerge” to pull up the document in Word.
  7. Click “Enable Editing” on the yellow bar at the top.
  8. You will then need to delete any empty extra spaces or blank areas.
  9. Look for ROS
    • a. If there is something that says “Negative” and then something in CAPS you will need to press enter after “Negative”
  10. At the bottom of the page, you will need to type “Electronically signed by:” and then the provider’s name (Jon A. Wagnon DO or Jett McGuire PA-C) followed by the date the note was created. You can find this date at the top right corner of each note page.
  11. Click on “File” on the top bar.
  12. Click on “print” and make sure that it says “Microsoft print to PDF” underneath “Printer”.
    • a. If it does not you need to click on the box below “Printer” and change this to “Microsoft Print to PDF”
  13. You will then click “print” on the bottom.
  14. You will then make sure that you are in the “downloads” file.
    • a. If you are not you will need to look at the folders on the left of the box and select “downloads”
    • b. Save this as “Patient’s name (note, date note was created)”
